Job transitions can be stressful—whether they’re due to layoff, a new job or a change in shift.
Even if you're on a greater path to finding & aligning with your true self, transitioning from your old "job" to Your Powerful Purpose can be overwhelming, to say the least.
If you’re facing a job transition now, consider the following magical, yet practical, tips.
1.Take an honest look at yourself.
What are your strengths, weaknesses, skills? How did those influence—positively or negatively—your transition?
What's your "WHY"? Why do you get out of bed every morning and what keeps you going?
If you are taking theYour Powerful Purpose™ intensive with me then you have already done this inner reflection work & probably already received your. What's awesome about that is it contains all the secrets of your soul-- from your innate super powers to your shadow elements to your magical archetypes & how to balance it all to make magic happen. Once you read your profile, you'll have no doubts about who you are.
2.Step up your self-care.
Major changes are physically and emotionally taxing. You need self-care now more than ever.
That means take a stroll in the park, sit at the beach or lake, take a hike, get a massage, go to the spa, do whatever gets you feeling zen. That's helping the physical level.
Since most mental/emotional & physical issues start as energetic imbalances, you should also consider some energy wellness self-care. Things like tai-chi, yoga, acupuncture, crystal healing, reiki healing, sound healing, aromatherapy, halotherapy (salt) & color therapy are all useful tools, therapies & activities you can engage in to help equalize & balance your energy system.
If you are pressed for time or can't find a local energy wellness practitioner, learn how you can work with me
virtually [Virtual Energy Balancing]. It's a special type of session I created where we use modern technology (video chats) to bring you the magic of live energy healing-- namely chromotherapy, guided meditation, crystal reiki, & brainwave entrainment.
3.Engage your curiosity.
Try something you never did or learn about something you never got a chance to, but you've always been interested in.
There's a lot of free & low-cost options you can google. We are trying to support you during this transitional phase; we're not trying to make it rain💸. You have to be smart about where you invest your money, after all.
Register for an arts & crafts workshop at your local community center. Join an improve troupe. Take a dance class! Go on a vacation or take a road trip!
Just go out there and engage your curious senses!
Then reflect on your experience and see if it tells you something about your greater purpose. What went wrong, or right? What could you have done better? What worked really well? Did you love it? Did you hate it?
4. Focus on what you want, and less on what you don’t want.
Try your hand at creating a vision board, to literally keep your eye on the prize.
A vision- or dream- board is a cut & paste of all the things you really want to experience & have in your (near or far) future, including dream jobs.
You can actually cut & paste magazine clippings or printed images on a poster board or you can go the ways of the technopagan & use pinterest or tumblr, or some other app to keep all your cool interests, hopes & dreams near by.
The principles for these boards are based both in metaphysical intention magic & psychological neuroscience. And they both agree it's best to keep your board in plain site. So, get clear on what you want, and make it come to life. Hang it proudly or set it as your desktop background... just keep seeing the big picture.
5. Find support.
Since your transition affects your family as well, it may be better to seek the outside support of friends or professionals. An unbiased 3rd party can often share a missed perspective or shine light on unseen opportunities.

6. Work on your thoughts.
Calm your fears and reinforce your sense of hope and happiness.
This one is probably my daily battle. Those pesky irrational fears & anxieties, ugh!
I am a huge fan of energy tools for the specific purpose of calming fears & reinforcing all sorts of positive vibes. Gimme all the sound healing, crystal bowl meditations you got! Music that you really vibe to is a great way to switch on the feel-good centers of the brain. Of course, some music more than others is calming & joyful. But I'll leave that to your discretion. Alpha Wave frequencies (7-12.5Hz) can be an awesome audio tool you can use to QUICKLY bring you into a relaxed state.
Once you are in Alpha state, affirmations are a great tool to help change our thoughts for the better. The key here is consistency.
Crystal buddies like Amethyst, Blue Lace Agate, Smokey Quartz, Rose Quartz & Lepidolite are great for calming panicky energy & general relaxation. Citrine or Green Aventurine is great for those job interviews or when starting up your own business. Keep the crystals in your pocket or purse (or bra!) to help entrain your energy field to the healing & balancing energy they are emitting.
Crystals Grids are just another great tool to add to your energetic magic box and you can learn more about grids here. I also make custom grids for my clients, helping them create an aura of whatever type of energy they're seeking. You can check that Custom Crystal Grid & Intuitve Reading service out here.
7. Reassure (or avoid) those who are threatened by, or jealous of, the change.
It's all about that support system and if those closest to you aren't supportive of your transitional period then you'll both experience a very difficult time.
Communication is key and reassuring words should be often followed by reassuring actions. Your team has to know you will be good. And you will only be good if you make moves. Share your goals, make sure everyone is on the same page, or eliminate some pages.
8.Create your own rite of passage.
Ceremony and ritual help with all transitions.
Not only does it help jump start the psyche, it talks to the universe for you in a powerful, magical, vibrational way. And fear not, rites & ceremonies can be very simple-- or as elaborate as you can imagine. It's all up to you.
Fire rituals help you physically burn away things that held you back from fulfilling your purpose. In the simplest form, you write down what you want to let go of, sit & meditate on how it will feel when those things are no longer burdening you… then burn that paper (in the safest manner, of course!). Very straightforward and practical rite, a very impactful ritual, and it also happens to have a powerful effect on the unconscious mind. Bonus everywhere!
Manifestation rituals or tools (like crystal grids) help you create a ceremony around your intentions & goals. You can tie a manifestation ceremony to celestial events, specifically the New Moon phase, to boost your abundance-attracting energy. Since, New Moons are a time synonymous with new growth and fresh starts, you can experience a energy reset every month. Plant your intentions for the month to come, create ceremony around your dreams and goals, and focus on what you want to see grow.
9.Let go of how things were “supposed to be” and accept “how things are.”
Find appreciation for what is.
Buddhism teaches us one of the main reasons for suffering is attachment. When we learn to let go of things that in reality are not even aligned to us we actually end up make our lives more enjoyable.
Easier said than done, sure, but once you know you need to let go of something there's kinda no coming back from that eye-opener.
Gratitude exercises can help with this tough aspect of transitioning. Sometimes, when life gives us shit-hit-the-fan-level drama we can't really focus on anything else. Understandably. But that's actually the best time to focus on any thing else... let it go. Let that moment go by triggering another, more pleasant moment in your mind.
Troubled by what once was? Thinking about how things just won't be the same? Do me a favor... Go ahead and name 3 things you are truly grateful for right now. Think about it. Be specific. I'll wait. 💫
By now you should be on the verge of smiling, if not already in full-cheese mode. Good job. You just trained your brain the first step to let stressful things that you cannot change go. Practicing daily gratitude exercises will make it second nature for you to let go of the B.S. 💩 (or belief systems that no longer serve your highest good😏).
10. Remember, the only constant is change.
Keep things in perspective. Or try on a new perspective. Don’t get stuck.
None of the mentioned magic methods are end-all, either:
Switch up or add to your vision board often! Do one fire ritual every Waning Moon phase for different stuff!Do a New Moon ritual every month!Join a support groupLearn about things you are passionate for...
The point is, by engaging in these tips & techniques you are instilling time & energy in behaviors that can bring about great change... and right now, the more energy you can bring towards making your goals happen, the better.
I wish you the best of luck!
